The Cross
The following is a story I heard a long time ago; it might not be exact, but it’s close.
A man was carrying his cross one day and it became heavy and burdensome. He went to Jesus and said, “Do I have to carry this big heavy cross. You said your burden will be light, your yolk easy. Don’t you have any smaller lighter ones I can carry.” So, Jesus took his cross and placed it in a room; then Jesus took the man into the room full of crosses. There were really big ones and there were really little ones. As the man looked around he became excited to think he would finally be able to carry a cross that was not as heavy as the one he had before, and he walked up to the smallest cross he found, and said, “I’ll take this One!” Jesus hesitated, and said “Are you sure, that’s the one you were carrying.”
The cross we carry may seem heavy and burdensome, but compared to others it may be small. It is how we want to look at it; however no ones cross will ever compare to the Cross of Christ. As we observe Good Friday, and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, know that a momentum is building for one of the greatest events that impacted our life as a believer. The Resurrection of Our Savior ~ the power that tore the veil in two, also set the captives free, not only then, but until Jesus returns; which is why we are to go through out the world telling of this “Good News” of the Savior, so that all may believe and experience this miraculous love that washes away the worst of the worst pains and sins. Go forth impact the world with the greatest love of all!
Blessings & Peace,
Annette
